Our Mission
Heroes on the Highway is a grassroots coalition of truck drivers and motor carriers that want to keep Oregon trucking strong.
We were founded by Shelly Boshart Davis, a small-town family trucking company owner, in 2023 to advocate for truckers' livelihoods because she was tired of politicians in Salem taking truckers for granted.
Shelly’s dad started the family trucking company in 1983 with two trucks and a dream. But that dream today is threatened by Oregon politicians and their overreaching taxes and regulations that make it harder and harder to earn a living driving truck.
As truckers, you understand the mantra: “If you bought it, a truck brought it.” When politicians shut our economy down because of COVID, it was you who kept working to keep the grocery stores stocked and the nation still moving. They called us “heroes on the highway,”… but how quickly they forgot.
Heroes on the Highway will provide critical information about the state of Oregon trucking and advocate for better leaders and policies to make earning a living driving truck not just easier, but an industry the next generation wants to be part of.
